Barbara McCormack was born in St. Thomas Ontario Canada and now paints year round in her studio in Burlington Ontario. As a young girl she spent many happy hours hiking through the woods and countryside learning about the natural flora and fauna of the area and translating this knowledge into drawings and paintings. While working as a Registered Nurse for over 20 years Barbara pursued studies in art history, design and colour theory at Algonquin College in Ottawa Canada. She also studied watercolour painting under Burlington artist Kathryn Bourbonniere and acrylic painting with the Oakville Art Society and The Marco Island Art League Center for The Arts on Marco Island Florida.

Barbara paints with watercolours, acrylics and oils to create unique images that capture the essence of light within her works.
